Blue Monday 4

Surprise, surprise... it's raining in the greater Seattle area. We had a couple of glorious days - sunny, and low 60's... but tonight it's just a bit of rain and temps around 30.... typical March stuff. The other was just a spring tease..

One of my clients joked that in our state, they should declare an emergency day off whenever it is sunny and warm ! (hah!.. kinda like a snow day but in reverse.. this would be a sun day!)

and its another "Blue Monday".

To tell you the truth, I really don't mind the rain at all. It is a grand excuse not to be out 'pruning my roses, or ripping out the blackberry stumps from between the neighbor's house and mine, and (....tah dah)... lawn mowing must now wait at least another week.. (woot woot)

this week, for Blue Monday, I have chosen for my theme, "Blue Cars"....
and I offer up to you, my silly attempt at photoshop with a few blue cars I saw the other day.

Truly, there are blue cars and trucks, wherever one looks. and the colors are so variable. Who knew!
And in absolute truthfulness, I took about  30 photos of blue cars, and had imagined that I would paste them all on this page, one after the other, until, with mind numbing weariness, one might beg for it all to cease and desist...
But I decided, in the end, to offer only a very very small bit of my foolishness tonight. (And I can just hear the collective sigh of relief.)

It was  a long working weekend, here in wizardland. The store where I work part time had an incredible sale on saturday - and I ran my legs off.. and then again today, the aftermath of all those amazing shoppers.

Time for another advil - and perhaps early to bed.

Blue Monday 3

The color blue is showing up everywhere.
I'm not sure that I will be doing the 'blue monday theme' every single week, yet so far it's kinda fun.
As seen here in downtown Olympia, we have a relic from the past.........

And every time I walk past it, I wonder why Dex continues to hang a fairly current phone book there. (there is naturally, no actual pay phone in the booth). Perhaps I am dating myself, but I do recall driving around looking for pay phones. wow.

And in a hint for a post that will be coming soon, Sheila and Michael gifted
  these to me at Madrona Fiber Arts Festival over the weekend. Thank you!! (lucky lucky me!)

I had a lovely time visiting with all my friends, and after a bit of re-entry time I will write more..

Blue Monday 2

In keeping with this winter's theme... and Monday's being blue...
I present..
Blue glass.................

blue beach glass to be specific.

It is soft and dull, no sharp edges. and I love to find small bits as I walk along the ocean shore.

This particular display is in my office right now..... and is wonderful for showing off some of the shells I collected last October while visiting my parents.

On a gray day in the Pac NW, this blue glass makes me smile.

Blue Monday 1

A good idea out there in blogland... was to post something blue on Mondays............

And so here I am, joining Claudia in her wistful thinking and saying that I wish I was here:

It's been the warmest January on record ever for the greater Seattle area (temps average 47) which for us translates to rain rain rain and muddy mess. No wool sweaters have been worn this winter, and wool socks are too hot . (blech) The sky has forgotten how to twinkle, and the weather inversions have been hardy. Burn bans are on (due to inversions) despite all the wet and flooding caution. Vitamin D levels are at an all time low. And this wizard has been a crab (hard to believe you are hearing this from the epitome of an optimist, isn't it!)

Knitting, you ask? ahem. There have been four or five false starts to projects that just didn't thrill me. But there might be a decent photo coming soon.
