Some of the peeps and I made a road trip last saturday to OFFF in Canby Oregon. The weather and the company could not have been more perfect!
None of the peeps had ever been to a fiber fair before, and this was a great introduction. It's not so enormous as the Maryland Show, and not so small as to be boring. There are a couple hundred vendors of fabulous quality, there are sheep, alpacas, bunnies, spinning circles, demonstrations, yummy lamb sausage booths and lots and lots of hand dyed yarn and fiber ;-)
The pictures tell the tale best I think.
We arrived just after it opened, and it was fairly quiet out by the lawn vendors, then it quickly filled up to jam-packed, and I stopped taking photos amidst the jostling people.
Here we are near the end of the day - Sherri, Michele and Marlene.
Happy fiber friends all!!
We were so thrilled by our purchases that we had to sit right down and begin.
Michele was casting on for her very first pair of socks ever (she's only been knitting for a few months and already made that adorable top she's wearing). The socks ended up being ones that we all passed around and added a few rows on. Hopefully tomorrow when we have our knitting group there will be a bit more progress.
And there were some purchases made (of course)
here's the loot:
And my favorite purchase of the day was this last picture, some merino tussah hand dyed by my friend Lisa of Dicentra Designs. yummmmyy. (check back on her Etsy shop in the next week or so, she will be loading up some new goodies)
And yes, I did indeed finish the Casablanca top (sewed in the ends on the ride down to the fair! and promptly put it on when we got out of the car). I was having such fun at the show there are no photos of it being worn yet. Next post...
