Sometimes it is good just to "play" and be silly.
I went up to Seattle last Tuesday night to sing karaoke with Erin and her friends... How very wonderful to have your 25 year old daughter ask to have you come and hang out :-)
Lucky me!
We went to a bar that is only a couple of blocks from her house on Capitol Hill.. The fact that it is a "gay bar" meant nothing to any of us - it's their local hang out.
And I must say that the majority of singers made me feel like I was at an audition for American Idol! These folks can really sing.
This time I remembered my camera, so there is photographic evidence.
ipod's are good entertainment too. all the "cool kids" have one (or so I have heard)

Rick is a good friend and coworker of Erin's - and he's truly auditioned for American Idol.
Being silly is so good for the soul. ;-) And there was at least one person there who kept trying to make the case for the fact that I resemble Jaime Lee Curtis. hah! I can't really see it, yet it began a round of hillarious laughter anyway.
May you all find something to chuckle about today.
Sounds like you had a really fun night. And looks like someone was drinking Guinness. Mmmmm.

Good for you!!I LOVE that your daughter wanted you to go "hang out" with her. I hope mine will ask the same of me in 13 years. And yes - I can see a JLC resemblance!!

I can definitely see the Jamie Lee Curtis comparision! Looks like you had loads of fun. I miss the gay bar/karaoke joint that we had back in Vancouver. Good times!

Way fun, and totally brave of you up there. But yes, you are a singer, so perhaps the brave part was the solo aspect.
