Today was essentially a day of rest, with a few very small household chores thrown in. A migraine that has been haunting me for the past two days has finally begun to subside. (phew.) I must say that in the 37 some odd years that it has been since I had a full blown one, I had not missed them. And I wouldn't complain at all if they never grace my door again.
thank goodness for a day off, and a soothing pot of Lasang Souchong tea.
I was able to pick up my Bulky Hooded Pullover and attach the sleeves about a half hour ago. This sweater is one of the clever ones that has zero seams.
(yup - its true. only 8 stitches under each arm to seam up after it's completed) Here's a peek at the back ('cause the front is just plain ol' knit and ever so boring to photograph)
True to typical Vogue patterns, this pattern made some assumptions about what the knitter 'knows' about knitting in the round, cable stitches and tracking rows. I love the finished look of their patterns, yet at times, the process makes me a bit bonkers. (not a good thing when recovering from massive migraines).
At any rate, it's now going back into the knitting bag for continuation in the near future.
It has begun to feel like autumn. (my favorite season). This morning rolled in with about 42 degrees (brrrrr) and the little space heater was promptly turned on, and windows were closed. I think that its about 60 outside right now, and that will be our "high" for this long weekend.
My garden has pretty much fizzled out, yet I'm hopeful that a day or two of sunshine that is predicted later on might help a few final spots of color. (picture me standing beside this dahlia each morning and whispering "you can do it, you can do it".... yeah, I'm silly that way)
As I sit here today in the relative calm of my backyard, I continue to check the news every hour or so for updates on the hurricanes. Many thoughts of safety go out to my friends in the Southeast. May you, and those who surround you, all be safe.

Sorry you had a migraine on such a glorious long weekend. Seems like it flew by. I'm still trying to get some tomatoes to turn red.

I think that sweater is going to be a hit! I've never knit a Vogue knitting pattern but I have sewn with their clothing patterns and they do make some assumptions, don't they?

Lovely sweater! Sorry about your migraine - I'm a lifelong sufferer - STILL - at 50. I keep waiting for them to go away!!

I love sweaters with no seaming. Glad your migraine is better. There are not many things worse than a migraine.
You can feel fall in the air here too. Our days have been warm still, but it gets chilly at night and when you first get up in the morning.

You can do it, you can do it! The sweater, not the dahlia!
Glad you are feeling better. Little worse than head pains, you just can't distance them the way you can with foot pain or elbow pain.
Love fall. Love.

37 years since you had a migraine?! *pauses to contemplate the wonder of that* Glad you're feeling better! Love those seamless sweaters... but yeah, Vogue patterns...

That sweater looks like it'll be a keeper for sure. Sorry that your weekend was marred by a migraine. I know how lousy they can be. Good to hear that you're doing better and relaxing.
