Nearing Completion

I may not be the speediest knitter, yet I do eventually finish. Blocking
My Braid and Cable Pullover is blocking (yippee). All that is left to do is to sew the seams, and knit about 10 rows for the collar. The edging in the pattern (along the bottom and the cuffs) called for a picot trim, yet that somehow clashes with my sensibilities for a heavy cabled sweater. I suspect that I will add a small i-cord bind off just to stabilize the bottom edge. Any thoughts?

Beginninggust While that beauty dries, I have begun another small project for my friend Lisa (Dicentra Designs). It is Gust (from Anne over at Knitspot). I am working with a gorgeous Alpaca Lace weight yarn that Lisa sent me in the color "Denim".

It is a delightful pattern, and as long as I pay attention to whether my YO's are preceding a knit or a purl stitch, I do fine (grin).
It's been a long time since I knit any lace, and this one is a bit slow going given issues with my hand still being a pest now and then - but overall I am very pleased!

The rain has begun once again here.... so no lawn mowing..... Geeee whiz, I guess I'll just have to KNIT ! (giggle)

That sweater is going to be wonderful!

the sweater is BEAUTIFUL! I love all the cables! I'd say an icord bind off would be just fine and go very well with it.....

I bet the i-cord would complement the cables.

oh gosh that sweater is luscious! i think the i-cord trim sounds perfect. and your gust looks gorgeous in that yarn, yay!

I-cord sounds like it would work perfectly. And Gust is on my list, too - yours is lovely!

Lovely blues! I have the Gust pattern and the Judy yarn for it...you are pushing me. But I did just start Wool Peddler's......

I agree with Icord rather than picot.

Seems like you knit that sweater pretty fast too me. It's going to be gorgeous! Those cables are awesome!

I-cord is a great finish for almost everything. Beautiful sweater(pieces). Now I am going to have to buy one of Anne's patterns. I got some gorgeous yak and silk natural color fine fine fine laceweight at our spin- in in coeur d alene last week.

I can't wait to see that sweater!
